BIO

Cate Whittemore, MFA, is an American contemporary fine artist, illustrator and educator and a designer and painter for IATSE productions for theater, film and TV. Her work is motivated by the insights that come from creativity. Her process is always evolving, exploring the necessities, and instability and fluid logic of paint - how experiments and mistakes can externalize and transform meaning. In 2011 she was commissioned by the International Campaign for Tibet to create a poster @ religious freedom, featuring a sanctioned portrait of the Dalai Lama. Her work is available @ ROCK PAPER SCISSORS in Buena Vista and Salida, CO.

She works full time in her Colorado painting studio, teaches locally and on retreat since 2015 in Skyros, Greece, www.skyros.com.
